Jimmy Young & Passion kicks off this years Free Fridays concert series Performing live April 5 at Bo Diddley Plaza from 7 – 9 p.m.
Concert is free and open to the public.
Jimmy Young began his singing career in Gainesville in 1954 and has been playing rhythm and blues in Gainesville and across Florida ever since. Backed by his band Passion they play some of the most popular R& B songs of the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s and have over 300 songs in their repertoire.
Artists that Jimmy Young and Passion cover include The Temptations, Ray Charles, Santana, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cook, Al Green, Ben E. King, The Four Tops, Jerry Butler, Barry White, Aretha Franklin, Hall and Oats, Martha and the Vandellas and many more.
