Cross Creek

Located in Southeast Alachua County, about 20 miles from Gainesville, Cross Creek connects Orange Lake and Lochloosa Lake. It is more famously known as the home of American author Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. Two of Marjorie’s books, The Yearling and Cross Creek, were turned into movies. Marjorie’s home is now a Florida State Park and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
