Centrally located in northern Florida, Gainesville is easily accessible from any direction and from many major metropolitan areas.
You can fly directly into Gainesville Regional Airport. It’s just 15 minutes from downtown and a few different commercial carriers offer daily flight service, like Delta, Continental, US Airways and DayJet.
If you prefer to ride the rails, Amtrak has a station in the city of Waldo with bus service easily connecting passengers to downtown Gainesville.
By car, getting here is usually a pretty straight shot.
- I-75 runs nearby making trips north from southern Florida easy, and doing the same for folks coming down from Georgia.
- From Orlando, it’s the Florida Turnpike to I-75.
- From Jacksonville, west on Highway 10 to south on Highway 301 to Highway 24 will get you here faster you think, plus run you through some small, friendly towns.
