On Thursday, celebrate the Fourth on the third at WUFT’s Fanfares & Fireworks at the University of Florida. Friday’s festivities include Micanopy’s annual parade in the morning followed by ballpark fun and a fireworks display in the evening. The City of Alachua’s Independence Day Celebration features “The Largest Small-Town Fireworks Display in the Country” at Legay Park Amphitheatre.
Explore nature with a guided walk at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens and see what’s in bloom. View rare animals at the Carson Springs Wildlife tour. And go on a casual birding walk with the Alachua Audubon Society at Birds and Brews.
