2024 Gainesville Friendship Walk

UF’s chapter of Best Buddies is proud to host the 11th annual Friendship Walk for the Gainesville Community. The Walk is the culmination of inclusion and fundraising efforts. As a school organization, they work to form genuine friendships between people with and without intellectual developmental disabilities. The money raised is going back to supporting families and employment opportunities for people with intellectual developmental disabilities in North Florida with a goal of reaching $25,000.
The Walk itself is a fairly short distance to enable participation regardless of ability. Entry is completely free and so is the food, activities, games, etc. They will be holding many raffles and auctions as well with prizes from several businesses around Gainesville and local artists. The Walk is family friendly for all ages at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center at the University of Florida. It begins at 10:00 AM with the ceremonial walk occurring around 11:30 and concluding at 1:00 PM. Registration for the event is available in-person the day of the event as well as online with the listed link. Come show your support!
