LifeSouth 5K & Party in the Plaza

The LifeSouth 5K & Party in the Plaza is an initiative of the LifeSouth Community Foundation, which provides education to K-12 students about the need for blood donation. To meet the needs of patients, it’s imperative to raise a “Donation Generation” of young people who understand and are committed to giving the gift of life.
The 5K takes place on Saturday, February 17 at 9 a.m. The start is downtown at Bo Diddley Plaza, and the course takes you on a tour of the Bed and Breakfast district, the area south of Depot Park, on the Hawthorne Connector trail and back to downtown. Our 1-mile Fun Run will begin shortly following the 5K. All age groups are encouraged to participate. Registered runners will receive an event shirt, finisher medal, and post-race food!
There will be a bloodmobile, booths from great, local vendors, and live music from the local band Chasing Rabbits. Anyone is welcome who wants to come out for this community event to join in the fun!
