Due Diligence in Europe event poster

Edouard Coppieters, American Chamber of Commerce to the EU, discusses the EU’s Green Deal push.

With a mandate of the 1st Commission of Ursula Von der Leyen ending, there are no less than 148 new legislations linked to the Green Deal that have been announced. Amongst this impressive amount of legislative texts, some stand out as the most impactful and ambitious political pushes passed for the European Single Market.

The EU Deforestation Regulation, the Corporate Sustainable Reporting Directive, the Corporate Sustainable Due Diligence Directive, and the Forced Labour Regulation are cornerstones of the ecological and social ambitions of the EU and aim to deliver on lawmakers’ promises to make the EU globally proactive and level the playing field of the green transition.
