Sept 22–Under the Tuscan Sun
A journey of Italian influences in art and music including Respighi’s “Trittico Botticelliano” inspired by Botticelli,” Bassoon Concerto” and a suite of “The Godfather” by Nina Rota, guest soloist Arnold Irchai, and Mendelssohn’s beloved “Italian Symphony.”
Dec 15 – Symphonic Season’s Greetings
Ring the bells and resound the organ! An international celebration of the most joyous time of the year. Including Saint-Saens’ exalted “Organ Symphony,” “Dances of Tchaikovsky,” special guests, surprising favorites and a finale sing-along that will make your heart glow.
Jan 12 – Crepe Suzette
Kick off the New Year with the music of Johann Strauss, Ravel’s dancing “La valse,” Mahler’s stunning “Adagietto” and a debut by the winner of The Gainesville Orchestra Young Artist Competition.
Feb 2 – American Pie
A celebration of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” on its 100th birthday along with Aaron Copland’s powerful 3rd Symphony, audience favorite “Fanfare for the Common Man” and more.
May 17 – Pops
