Grab a slice of cake (while it lasts!) and settle in for the unmistakable Bo Diddley sound at the Bo Diddley Birthday Bash, beginning at 3 p.m. The free concert features a live performance by popular R&B band Show Time.

The event celebrates Bo Diddley’s 98th birthday (born December 30, 1928), honoring the legendary musician whose driving beat helped shape rock and roll and continues to influence generations of artists.

Bo Diddley remains a defining force in American music and a source of lasting pride for Alachua County, a place he once called home.
