Archer Community Center
The Archer Community Center is now open and available to rent for your next function!
In 1936/37 the existing brick building Archer High School Gymnasium was constructed under the Works Progress Administration (WPA/PWA), and was originally the gymnasium for the old Archer High School. It is a link to the history and memories of many of the residents of Archer.
In 2003, the plans for the five acre parcel of land at the old Archer High School site located on the corner of Church Street and Hwy 27/41 came by way of the Florida Community Design Center, Volunteer Tom Smith and others along with then Commissioner Roberta Campbell Lopez, the City of Archer Commissioners and Staff.
Broadly conceived, the multi-purpose Community Center will be a gathering place for:
- elderly programs
- youth and teen activities
- theatrical and musical performances
- club meetings
- arts and crafts
- indoor recreation
- and other special events
