Join Dr. Rik Stevenson and the Writers Alliance of Gainesville for a discussion about the “Other Book” and underrepresented historical knowledge that allows writers to create more accurate storytelling.

Before school integration, many Black educators taught from two books – the official curriculum and the “other book,” which revealed truths omitted from mainstream narratives. Dr. Stevenson will share insights and research techniques to help writers uncover these stories and build more authentic, complex characters and plots.

Free and open to all. No registration required.
