Overview

Trace the rise of the underground U.S. hardcore punk movement during a screening of “American Hardcore.” Directed by Paul Rachman and written by Steven Blush, the 2006 documentary chronicles the music and culture that developed from 1980 to 1986. Rare and previously unseen performance footage captures influential bands including Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, SS Decontrol, D.O.A. and the Circle Jerks, documenting the artists, audiences and independent scene that helped define an era of American punk.
