In this afternoon workshop, make a small piece of jewelry, a pendant, using embossing texture and clay forming techniques. The class will fire the piece with a torch and it will be ready to take home after class. Learn all the techniques necessary to complete this project, tools and silver clay provided.
Silver Metal Clay is composed of Fine Silver powder 99.9% and combined with non-toxic binders and water. In the raw, the metal looks like a lump of clay and can be rolled, coiled, sculpted, stamped, sanded, filed, engraved, drilled, and pre-polished, all prior to firing. When fired with a torch or in a kiln the binder burns away and sinters into solid metal.
Well-known Gainesville jeweler Trudy Spillane leads the class.
