Splash into Science with the Florida Museum at the library! Neat science sessions bring the water cycle into your hands. Perfect for elementary-aged learners looking for something new to do.
This four-part series consists of four free, 45-minute learning sessions aimed at bringing core science concepts to K-8 students in an informal setting. While the four parts of the series are meant to work together, each session is designed to also offer stand-alone science education.
If you miss one session, you can check the calendar and catch it at a different library branch.
These sessions do not require pre-registration but do have limited capacity.
Exploring capillary action
In this second session of our Splash into Science series, learn about something called capillary action, a special property of water. How does water move up a plant from the roots to the leaves? Learn by watching how water moves through coffee filters and washable markers because of capillary action.
