Overview

Participate in Journey to Juneteenth: National Holiday Celebration and commemorate the significance of Juneteenth through community engagement, education, and cultural reflection. Journey to Juneteenth is part of the City of Gainesville’s month-long observance that begins on Florida Emancipation Day, May 20, and continues through the nationally recognized Juneteenth holiday on June 19. The event honors the journey to freedom while recognizing Florida’s unique emancipation history and celebrating the resilience, achievements, and contributions of African Americans through community-focused programming.
