Gainesville Reads

Celebrate literature, community and the natural world during Gainesville Reads 2026, the third annual citywide reading festival hosted by The Lynx Bookstore. This monthlong celebration centers on Robin Wall Kimmerer’s acclaimed book, “The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World,” highlighting Indigenous wisdom, environmental stewardship and the connections between people and nature. Throughout October, community readings, discussions and activities lead up to a keynote presentation by Kimmerer at the UF Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The festival encourages conversations about gratitude, reciprocity and caring for the world around us. For a list of events go to The Lynx Books Events.
