Explore the new exhibit “French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850–1950,” showcasing over 55 paintings, drawings and sculptures from the Brooklyn Museum’s collection of European art. “French Moderns” also features Claude Monet’s Waterloo Bridge, on loan from the Lowe Art Museum, and “Champ d’avoine (Oat Field)” from the Harn’s collection. The exhibition spans a century of transformative French art, an era that saw the emergence of movements including Realism, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Symbolism, Fauvism, Cubism and Surrealism.
