Learn about folk art installations at the A. Quinn Jones Museum and Cultural Center. Folk art educator and art Turbado Marabou examines several works that were installed at the museum using the City of Gainesville’s permanent collection of folk art by Alyne Harris, Jessie Aaron, Eddy Muma and Turbado Marabou.
This monthly lecture series will deepen your understanding of each artist and their contribution to folk art traditions within the Southern experience and how folk art practices assist the community to hold collective memory. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
