Daves New York Deli at Tioga Town Center

Dave’s is a real NY Style Deli offering Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Born and raised just outside of Philadelphia, Founder David Anders spent his summers at the Jersey Shore and In 1994, Dave made the move to Florida with the company he worked for. After a 27 year career in Advertising and Marketing that included monthly trips to New York and Chicago, he retired from advertising and decided to to something a little bit different.

“I spent so much time in Delis while traveling to New York I knew that they offered not just great food but also a very comfortable atmosphere. Since we made the move to Florida in 1994, we were always looking to recapture some of the foods we grew up with. Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York all offered unique foods that many people from the Northeast were looking for in Florida.”

With that goal in mind Dave started researching how to bring the flavors of the Northeast to the Gainesville area. In 2009, he created the menu, made arrangements with vendors and opened Dave’s New York Deli.

Dave’s features many items with a focus on traditional New York Deli food including Pastrami, Corned Beef from New York’s Carnegie Deli, Knish from Gabillia’s, Matzo Ball Soup, Bagels from the Bronx, Lox from Acme Smoked Fish Company and much, much more. Not forgetting his Philadelphia roots, Dave also specializes in Philly Cheesesteaks featuring Amoroso rolls from Philadelphia and the traditional Hoagies he grew up with in New Jersey.
