Wedding at Cuscowilla

For weddings, anniversaries, celebrations of life, family reunions, baby and bridal showers, and retirement parties, Cuscowilla’s Lodge is a perfect setting for making memories. The grounds provide a stunning natural backdrop for professional events — from inspiring outdoor meetings to corporate retreats, relaxing hikes, and team-building opportunities.

The Olympic size swimming pool is open to the public on weekends Memorial Day through Labor Day from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (weather permitting). Day passes are available for $5. Alachua County residents can purchase a $25 season pass. Passes can be purchased onsite or online by clicking “Register & Reserve” and then “Pool Pass”, under the Memberships tab. For cash payments, please bring exact change.

Cuscowilla lodge

Cuscowilla offers activities and lodgings to suit an array of tastes and needs. With access to archery, a climbing wall, low ropes, nature trails, an olympic sized pool, a game room, picnic areas, a docks with kayak, and an array of sports and games, there’s something for visitors of all ages. The property also boasts five air conditioned cabins, each sleeping up to 20 guests.

Outdoor education classes and activities provide an interactive science field trip experience. Students enjoy Cuscowilla field trips for the opportunity to learn outside in a hands-on way. Cuscowilla also hosts monthly preschool and elementary homeschool programs.

What is included in the rental fees?
The rental fee includes full-day venue access, tables, chairs, a plug-and-play AV system, and partial use of the kitchen.

Can the venue be toured in person?
Tours are available by appointment. Contact the office at [email protected] or call 352-538-0076.

Are any discounts offered?
A nonprofit rate is available for organizations with a current tax-exempt certificate.

How can a date be secured?
Once the date is confirmed as available, an application will be provided. Return the completed application to the office to receive a link via email for the deposit payment. Full payment is due no later than two weeks before the event.

Is event insurance required?
Most weddings and large events require event insurance. The need for insurance depends on the size and type of event.

What is the maximum capacity?
The Lodge accommodates up to 125 people.

When is venue access permitted on the day of the event?
Access is granted during the contracted rental time. Vendors and guests may not enter the venue outside of this period. Additional hours can be arranged by booking the day prior to the event.

Is alcohol permitted?
Yes. A copy of the bartender’s or catering company’s alcohol service license is required, along with a contracted off-duty law enforcement officer present during the event.

What are the cabins like?
Cuscowilla has five cabins. Each cabin sleeps 20 guests in bunk-style beds and is equipped with air conditioning, heat, a mini refrigerator, a microwave, and bathrooms. Guests must provide their own linens.

What is the vendor policy?
Cuscowilla maintains an open vendor policy. Any vendors may be used. A list of vendors with prior experience at the venue is available upon request.

Are weddings hosted at Cuscowilla?
Yes. The venue has hosted numerous weddings on its grounds, with receptions commonly held in the Lodge.

How is cleanup handled?
Event hosts are responsible for removing all items brought into the venue by the end of the contracted rental period. This includes waste, décor, and personal belongings. Tables should be cleared, and all trash must be disposed of in the provided receptacles or dumpster.
