Guided nature walks in Gainesville, Alachua County, May 2026, offer a chance to experience North Central Florida’s landscapes as late spring transitions into early summer. As a gateway location on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail, Gainesville and Alachua County provide access to wetlands, prairies, forests, and freshwater springs filled with wildlife.

Throughout the month, guided nature walks highlight active wildlife, lush vegetation, and the final wave of spring bird migration. Warmer temperatures and longer days make this an ideal time for early morning birding, shaded nature trails, and outdoor learning experiences.
