Discover Zookeeper Day at the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo and learn what it takes to care for animals in a modern zoological setting. Zookeeper Day at the Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo celebrates National Zookeeper Week with animal encounters, keeper talks, training demonstrations, educational activities, and opportunities to meet current student zookeepers and professionals from zoos and conservation organizations. Guests can explore careers in animal care, learn about the Zoo Animal Technology program, and meet animal ambassadors while gaining insight into the many roles zookeepers play in conservation, education, and animal welfare. Quiet hours will be offered from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. This event is funded in part by Visit Gainesville, Alachua County.
