With the worst of Elsa behind us, we welcome the weekend with What’s Good. Meet local artists demonstrating their talents at the Artisans’ Guild Gallery’s Pop-Up on the Porch, or plan for fun in High Springs with the two-day FloraNola music festival, a dip or paddle in the Springs, and a pint at the High Springs Brewing Company complete with food trucks and live music.

Alachua County’s rich musical heritage reverberates throughout area stages with 35+ opportunities to catch live music this weekend, including JazzDad at the Free Fridays Concert Series, Doug Deming and the Ramblin’ Mutts rocking at High Dive, The Shambles serving up classic rock favorites at Tioga Town Square, plus the Smokin’ Torpedoes lighting up the promenade at Celebration Pointe. The Forever Miles Band consists of Leonard Jackson (keys/vocals), Ray Minter (guitar), Javell Woods (bass), and the heartbeat of the band CJ Watts (drums). Expect to hear many genres of music with covers of The Temptations, James Taylor, Steve Miller Band, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye and more, all infused with a smooth jazz twist. 

The Free Fridays Concert Series is the region’s longest-running free outdoor concert series featuring local and regional talent. Grab dinner at a downtown Gainesville restaurant, and find a cozy spot on the Bo Diddley Plaza lawn to enjoy a live music concert every Friday night through October.
