The grand opening of Florida’s 9th largest restaurant, Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille kicks off What’s Good this weekend, plus Gosia and Ali bring their distinct brand of world music to Jazz on the Green, all at Celebration Pointe. The Free Fridays Concert Series livens up downtown Gainesville, plus punk and alternative music fans get a taste of the internationally popular Fest19 with The Warm Up at Heartwood Soundstage.

The Harn Museum hosts a special Museum Nights inspired by the Shadow and Substance photography exhibit, an exploration of Black lives and history. And the Artisans’ Guild Gallery invites art lovers to experience creativity in the making with Pop Up on the Porch. Find fun for the kids, yoga with goats, craft beer-aversaries and more when you read on for more of What’s Good!

Two former University of Florida roommates never lost touch and never lost their love of music. Bill Daniel and Brent Pope re-launched their band in the past year with the name Pre-Existing Conditions. Their music spans decades from the ‘60s through the ‘90s featuring rock legends like The Eagles, America, Elton John, The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Eric Clapton and Gainesville native, Tom Petty. The Free Fridays Concert Series is the region’s longest-running free outdoor concert series featuring local and regional talent. Grab dinner at a downtown Gainesville restaurant, and find a cozy spot on the Bo Diddley Plaza lawn to enjoy a live music concert every Friday night through October.
