Enjoy food and drinks from walkable restaurants and cafes in downtown Gainesville. Admission is free.

Bee-Luther-Hatchee presents an intricate plot to confront a complicated question of who has the right to tell another person’s story. The play follows Shelita Burns, an African American editor and publisher of “Bee-luther-hatchee,” the prize-winning autobiography of a 72-year-old black woman. When Shelita decides to deliver the award in person, she is shocked to find out the actual author is a white man. Shelita accuses him of a hoax, while he defends the book as a truthful work of imagination.
