Go UpStage as UF Performing Arts Opens the 2024-2025 Season with Sean Mason Quartet and Tres Souls

Step into an intimate cabaret-style setting as the UF Phillips Center Mainstage transforms for UpStage. Friday night features catchy jazz melodies rooted in the South with pianist Sean Mason and his quartet. On Saturday, Tres Souls delivers vintage sounds from the golden age of Mexican cinema. The 7 p.m. seating includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and cash bar; the 9 p.m. seating includes desserts and cash bar.

“Shake It Off” with the Candlelight Concerts Tribute to Taylor Swift

Candlelight Concerts are a live, multi-sensory musical experience within unique venues. Hear 61 Bells Ring Out from Century Tower at the Carillon Studio Concert

The University of Florida Carillon Studio Concert Series offers a chance to hear the UF Carillon during a fifty-minute recital ringing out from Century Tower. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Century Tower is a 157-foot carillon tower in the center of the UF campus. It was built in 1953 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the university and was dedicated to UF students killed in World Wars I and II. For an optimal listening experience, find a location at least 100 feet from the tower.

When Shelita decides to deliver the award in person, she is shocked to find out the actual author is a white man. Shelita accuses him of a hoax, while he defends the book as a truthful work of imagination.
