WORKSHOP – Exploring Digital Tools with the iPad
June 3 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm$65 – $115
In this workshop, participants will learn how to start a Digital file in an easy-to-use app called Procreate. On top of this, participants will receive a take-home pamphlet with all the information they need to facilitate Art sharing and transfer on the web and in print modes.
Procreate is a Digital app that comes with an entire library of brushes with everything from pencils, inks, charcoals, to artistic brushes that lay painterly textures. You can paint or draw in any color of your choice, as well as being able to create your own personal palettes. Participants will learn the basic multi-touch gestures like Undo, Copy, and Paste. There is so much more, but the idea of this workshop is to simply introduce the basic functions of the app and ensure comfort with moving through it.
You can buy Procreate for $12.99 as a one-time purchase through the App Store.
Participants will also receive a short lecture, conversation style, on the basic functions of digital and print designs including file types, color printing, black and white printing, and a glossary of terms.
This project is funded in part by Visit Gainesville, Alachua County, in part by the Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Council of Arts and Culture and the State of Florida, and in part by a grant from the City of Gainesville, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department.
