In an effort to raise awareness and funding for the Wombat, they have created an annual event highlighting Gainesville’s music and arts heritage called the Wombash. The long term goal is to grow the Wombash into a large-scale, multi-venue celebration of the heritage of music and the arts from the Gainesville area. Wombash23 is happening May 12th and 13th, 2023. Headliner for the event is Platinum Recording artist, Sister Hazel. The event also features a return of the funk band What It Is to Gainesville after more than 20 years. Other artist include Little Jake and the Soul Searchers, Morningbell, Sooza Brass Band, The Ones to Blame, Jordan Burchel, and The Slims!
