Santa Fe College’s New Fine Arts Season Takes Flight with The Wire Birds
Santa Fe College’s first Visiting Artist of the 2024-2025 season, The Wire Birds, will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 in the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall, 3000 NW 83 Street, Gainesville.
Tickets are $16 for adults; $10 for seniors, students and military service members and children 12 and under; and free for SF students, faculty, and staff with college ID cards. Tickets are available from the Fine Arts Hall Box Office at 352-395-4181 or online from Showpass at: showpass.com/visiting-artist-the-wire-birds.
The Wire Birds are a folk group performing original songs with close harmonies and a string
quintet:
Dan Stepp, vocals and guitar
Emma Rynear, vocals
Gabi Shapiro, bass
Dan Hardwick, cello
Cate Hancock, viola
Andre Cox, violin
Lauran Roberts, violin
Musical influences include country, blues, jazz, traditional folk music and
classical chamber music. They have been performing together for two years and have
completed two albums of original compositions. Their first album, The Wire Birds Volume 1, is
available on streaming platforms.

Santa Fe College’s Visiting Artist Series offers more than performances. It provides SF students the opportunity to learn directly from renowned artists in visual arts, dance, music and theater. By combining educational opportunities with captivating performances, the series enriches both the student experience and the community’s cultural offerings.
