The Choreographic Work of the Dancer
June 19 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
An event every 3 days that begins at 9:00am, repeating until June 21, 2019
Brian Carey Chung, new Resident Choreographer of Dance Alive National Ballet, will be conducting a three day workshop for intermediate and advanced dancers age 12 and up.
According to Mr. Chung, the thrust of the workshop “is that the dancer is not merely a mover, but a thinking divining collaborator to the choreographer. It will push the dancer to understand that this is very necessary for success in the field.”
Dancers may be divided into two groups or more. Mr. Chung will give you tools in which to be a better dancer for the choreographers. You need to bring nothing on the first day. This is a GRAND EXPERIMENT! Mr. Chung will be drawing from other art forms and if something is created by all of you, yay! If not, that’s OK, too.
• If you play an instrument, bring the instrument.
• Bring a notebook and a pen and pencil and a phone with a camera.
• If you have a second talent, Mr. Chung would like to know the first day!
