Sunshine State Book Festival

Looking for a great book to read or give as a gift? Come and look through the many books by local authors from Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida, and across the U.S.! Because of COVID-19 protocols, the second annual Sunshine State Book Festival is online this year. It runs January 30-June 30, 2021. Wander through the 94 participating author booths. Meet the authors through short videos and be linked directly to the books they have written. Enjoy lectures by awarding winning authors including our very own Alachua County Poet Laureate, E. Stanley Richardson. Other Guest Speakers include Pulitzer Prize Winner, Jack Davis, and NAACP Image Award Nominees Gilly Segal and Kimberly Jones. There is a Special Children’s Area where children, parents, and teachers can find free downloadable worksheets and activities. This event is hosted by The Writers Alliance of Gainesville, sponsored by Florida Blue Health Insurance, Cox Communications, The Links, Inc., and the Opinionated Ladies Book Club, and endorsed by The Excelsior Matrons Social Club.
