Sun Country Dance Theatre Open Auditions

Sun Country Dance Theatre (SCDT), founded in August 2008, will hold OPEN AUDITIONS for their 16th Season (2023-2024) on SUNDAY, AUGUST 20, 2023.
A Mandatory Pre-Audition meeting for all dancers and parents/legal guardians of dancers planning to audition for SCDT will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023, at 7:00pm, at Sun Country Sports – West location. The purpose of this meeting will be to outline and review all information and details regarding becoming a performing member of SCDT.
ON-LINE PRE-REGISTRATION FOR THE AUDITIONS IS ALSO REQUIRED FOR ALL DANCERS. All required audition documents and links will be provided to parents at the pre-audition meeting. Audition fee is $25 per dancer – due at the time of registration. The deadline for all completed pre-registration documents and audition fee payment is Thursday, August 17th!
Audition details for SUNDAY, AUGUST 20th as follows:
o SENIOR / APPRENTICE COMPANY – 12:15-2:15 pm
Int/Adv – Advanced Level Ballet – ages 13 & up – Must be on pointe.
o YOUTH/TRAINEE COMPANY – 2:30-4:15 pm
Intermediate level – Ages 12 & up / Minimum of 5 consecutive years of previous ballet training. Bring pointe shoes if on pointe.
o JUNIOR COMPANY – 4:30-6:00pm
Ages 9 & up / Minimum of 3 consecutive years of previous ballet training.
o All auditions will be held at Sun Country Sports – West location –
333 SW 140 Terrace, Jonesville, FL.
o Dancers should arrive 20 minutes prior to the audition
o Girls should wear a black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers, with hair in a slick classical ballet bun (no bangs). Dancers who have at least one year of pointe experience should bring their pointe shoes to the audition. Boys should wear appropriate classical ballet class attire.

Sun Country Dance Theatre (SCDT) is the resident non-profit performing company of DANCE Sun Country at Sun Country Sports Center. SCDT is dedicated to nurturing and developing the artistic talent of our youth by providing pre-professional training and performance opportunities for the talented young dancers of our community.
Membership in Sun Country Dance Theatre is offered through audition without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, gender, or national origin. Sponsorship assistance is available.
