Dr. David Getsy lectures on the intersections of drag and performance art in 1970s New York City. His talk intersects with two of his current works in progress: one, a monograph on Stephen Varble, known for his genderqueer and guerilla-style street performances; the other, a multi-artist study that examines the rise of downtown performance art in the wake of the Stonewall uprising.
