Join the Gainesville Fine Arts Association for the opening reception of our Biennial National Juried Exhibit: HEAT! This Exhibition was inspired by the book The Heat Will Kill You First by Jeff Goodell. Curated by Skip Snow, Artists and Biologist, and Katy Lemle, Executive Director and Curator, HEAT brings together art from across the nation exploring the concept of ‘heat’ as it relates to a warming planet: how it impacts our environment, bodies, lifestyles, landscapes and structures. Exhibit will be on display August 28 through October 19, 2024. Sponsored in part by Visit Gainesville, Alachua County. Our community partner, the Lynx Bookstore, has planned Gainesville Reads events inspired by the exhibition throughout the month of September, and will be celebrating the launching at the reception. Check out their schedule of events at thelynxsbooks.com.
