Barbershop conversations are heading to Bo Diddley Plaza in Downtown Gainesville, Florida for the Fading Out Violence Expo on September 20, 2019.
Barbers and stylists from all across Gainesville and Alachua County, coming together for a FREE Unity Celebration of empowerment and freedom from the fear of violence. There is No Day like Today to stand firm against violence in our homes and in our community. For more information visit our FB page at GreenDotGNV or call 352.334.7900.
We need you, your agency and your influence to help end violence in our community.
Imagine people, just like you who oppose violence, outnumbering people who choose to harm others through power-based violence.
Green Dot GNV is an initiative to end violence. This grassroots effort is working to empower residents in our community by engaging barbers and stylist who are helping to lead the Green Dot Fading Out Violence (FOV) Expo Movement. This community wide family FOV event will be held on September 20, 2019 from 9:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at Bo Diddley Plaza in beautiful downtown Gainesville. FOV Expo is being held on the Eve of the National Day of Peace.
Saying no to violence is always the right decision. We are partnering with local barbers and stylists in Alachua County to help promote safety and sending a clear message that we do not tolerate sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse nor stalking in our community.
We invite you to join other agencies, exhibitors to showcase a unified effort to change the culture of the acceptance of violence in our community. Businesses and vendors with a goal of ending violence are welcome to this FREE tabling event. Partners will also be interviewed on At The WELLnessRadioTV Internet Radio and Green Dot GNV FB Page. This event will be carried Live on FB and At The WELLnessRadioTV.
Join us as Gainesville Mayor Lauren Poe declares September 20th as Green Dot Fading Out Violence Day and well as community choirs, A Barbershop Quartet speakers and other leaders just like you. There is no fee for nonprofit and government agencies, but food vendors will be required to pay a small fee.
