Artist, entomologist, and author Teresa Yawn will be speaking about how and why the Mexican bromeliad weevil is so damaging to our native bromeliads, especially the giant airplant (Tillandsia utriculata), altering the ecosystem and diminishing biodiversity. She’ll also discuss biological control, conservation efforts, and a potential solution for controlling the weevil.
