Fall Horticulture Expo & Plant Sale
October 19 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
FreeEvent Navigation
The Fall Horticulture Expo is just around the corner, and this year’s event promises to be more important than ever. With renowned author and keynote speaker Doug Tallamy leading the charge, attendees will learn why growing native plants is crucial to saving caterpillars, bees, butterflies and, ultimately, ourselves. These vital creatures are facing massive declines, and without them, our entire ecosystem, including the food chain that sustains us, is at risk.
This family-friendly event, set for October 19th, will feature a Native Tree Giveaway and a full slate of organizations dedicated to conservation and sustainability. Joining hosts Gainesville Garden Club and Master Gardener Volunteers and exhibitors. Partners such as Audubon, Florida Friendly Landscaping, Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, and Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission will offer tips on how to help protect our natural world. Whether you’re learning from Bee City or exploring how the Alachua Conservation Trust is working to preserve vital habitats, you’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of how we all play a role in protecting biodiversity.
For those looking to get hands-on, there are numerous educational and fun activities to engage the whole family. Check out the Kids Zone, join a workshop with the Master Gardeners, or participate in Fun with Flowers. If you love home projects, don’t miss the She Shed and the chance to get creative with plants and garden design.
Every booth, activity, and lesson at this expo carries the same message: act now to restore balance in local ecosystems by growing native plants. It’s a small step with a massive impact on saving the pollinators that keep the world buzzing and blooming. Bring your curiosity, and leave with inspiration—and maybe a tree!
