The Gainesville Music History Foundation is pleased to invite everyone to attend the Tom Petty State Historic Marker Dedication & Unveiling Ceremony in Tom Petty Park, at NE 13th Avenue and NE 5th Terrace, at 12:00 PM Noon, Sunday October 13th.
Among the expected speakers will be Jeff Goldstein, Chairman and Founder of the Gainesville Music History Foundation, and Board members Melanie Barr and Mike Boulware. The Mayor of Gainesville, Harvey Ward, will accept the Marker on behalf of the City of Gainesville, and Tom’s brother, Bruce Petty, will accept the Marker on behalf of the Petty family.
The picnic in the park, which always ends the Tom Petty Weekend, will commence immediately after the ceremony.
