From October 14-28 (Wednesday-Saturday, 11am-4pm), the Matheson will set up a temporary exhibit in the Main Gallery interpreting the history of the LGBTQ+ community featuring our recently acquired collection from the Pride Community Center of North Central Florida (PCCNCF), which includes Pride Days memorabilia, PCCNCF newsletters, the Gainesville Area AIDS Project quilt collection, and much more. The gallery will take a broad view of Gainesville’s queer community and its important institutions during the long fight for equality while displaying memorabilia and artifacts from that time.
The Matheson will also have a smaller exhibit on display at the Gainesville Pride Festival on Saturday, October 21.
