The Swamp Restaurant

SERVING THE GATOR NATION SINCE 1994

Nearly destroyed by a fire in 1993, the house constructed in 1914 as the University of Florida professor’s house now serves a different purpose.  After a massive renovation, the doors were opened Dec. 30th 1994 to a clamoring Gator Bowl crowd, and The Swamp Restaurant was born. In the years since The Swamp Restaurant has grown to become a local landmark and a staple of the Gainesville community.
