The Camellia Rose Inn is a beautiful Queen Anne home, originally known as Swearingen House, and built for Thomas J. Swearingen in 1903. Swearingen, who owned one of the first automobile dealerships in Gainesville, lived in the original house for fifteen years.

Unlike smaller B&B's, the rooms of the Camellia Rose Inn are very spacious, with large windows offering grand views of historic Gainesville. Each room is beautifully decorated with modern, conveniences like FREE wireless Internet access, yet maintain the feeling of a bygone era. A full, three-course breakfast featuring seasonal fresh fruit, savory entrees such as cream cheese scrambled eggs and peppered bacon, stuffed croissants and Canadian bacon, biscuits and sausage gravy with cheesy garlic grits and several varieties of tea and coffee is served daily in the dining room from 8:30 – 10 AM.
