You'll be hooked, line and sinker.

For being landlocked, Florida is no worse the wear when it comes to waters to fish. Angling enthusiasts have always flocked here on fishing trips, eager to throw a line into our lakes and rivers. Five miles south of Hawthorn, Lake Lockloosa is bordered by old-growth cypress and offers good bluegill, redear sunfish, warmouth and crappie fishing depending on the month. Lake Santa Fe forms the headwaters of the Santa Fe River and specializes in bass, black crappie, bluegill and redear. For those looking for an interesting story on top of great fishing, Newnans Lake has been a popular choice of anglers for 11,000 years. This prehistory was discovered during the drought of 2000 when 100 dugout canoes were uncovered half buried in the mud. Like any great fishing spot, each of these locations has their own secrets. What bait works? What doesn't? Just ask a fellow fisherman.
